More retry attempts, more recovered revenue
Your processor's built-in retries only go so far. ChurnWard adds its own retry attempts on a separate schedule, giving failed payments more chances to succeed without any configuration on your part.
Why additional retries matter
Most processors retry failed payments a handful of times on their own schedule. That recovers some revenue, but plenty of payments still slip through. ChurnWard adds extra retry attempts on our own fixed schedule, running alongside your processor's native retries. More attempts means more recovered revenue.
- Additional retry attempts on ChurnWard's own schedule
- Runs alongside your processor's native retries, not instead of them
- Works alongside email recovery for maximum effectiveness
- Dashboard shows retry attempts, timing, and outcomes
- Powers the retry timing behind dunning recovery flows
Step by step
How it works
Payment failure detected
When a payment fails, ChurnWard picks it up via your processor's webhooks and enrols the subscription in the retry flow.
Retries run on our schedule
ChurnWard attempts additional retries on our own fixed schedule, separate from whatever your processor is doing natively. This gives the payment more chances to succeed over a longer window.
Combined with email recovery
ChurnWard attempts all retries upfront. If the retries don't recover the payment, the dunning email flow takes over and prompts the customer to update their card. If a retry succeeds, no emails are sent.
Why it matters
More chances to recover
Your processor's retries plus ChurnWard's retries means more total attempts. Payments that would have been written off get additional chances to succeed.
Fewer unnecessary retries
No point retrying an expired card five times. ChurnWard knows when to retry and when to focus on getting the customer to update their details.
Enable and forget it
Turn smart retries on and ChurnWard handles the rest. No configuration needed. Scheduling, monitoring, and reporting all happen automatically.
Frequently asked questions
No. ChurnWard's retries run alongside your processor's native retry logic. You get both, which means more total attempts at recovering the payment.
Smart retries can be enabled or disabled, but the schedule itself is not configurable. They run on our own timing alongside your processor's native retry logic.
The subscription is marked as recovered and any active dunning email flow is stopped automatically. The customer is not sent any further recovery emails.
More retries, more recovered revenue
